My Story
Dr. Laura Elko, PT, DPT is the Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Mobility Specialists, where she leads the clinic’s mission to redefine pain management, movement optimization, and functional rehabilitation through innovation, precision, and results-driven care. Recognized as a leader in modern physical therapy, Dr. Elko combines advanced movement science, hands-on expertise, and performance-based strategies to help clients move efficiently, confidently, and without limitation.

A Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Southern California (USC)—home to the nation’s top-ranked physical therapy program—Dr. Elko has been delivering cutting-edge care since 2010. Her early career at USC working with collegiate athletes shaped her approach to high-performance rehabilitation, where precision, efficiency, and measurable outcomes are essential.

After returning to Pennsylvania, Dr. Elko further refined her clinical expertise at Bryn Mawr Rehabilitation Outpatient Clinic, treating a diverse orthopedic and neurological population. These experiences laid the foundation for Mobility Specialists, which she co-founded in 2018 with Dr. Jillian Alati to challenge traditional care models and deliver a more intelligent, integrated, and goal-driven rehabilitation experience.

Dr. Elko’s clinical approach is grounded in advanced certification and continual education, including:
-
Dry Needling (Structure & Function, Evidence in Motion)
-
Functional Movement Systems (FMS, SFMA Levels I & II, FCS – Grey Cook Methodology)
-
Fascial Manipulation & Advanced Manual Therapy (Stecco Techniques, Fascial Dissection Lab)
-
Balanced Athlete™ Methodology
-
Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) Training
-
Cupping and Deep Tissue Techniques

At Mobility Specialists, Dr. Elko integrates state-of-the-art technology, precise manual therapy, and movement-based programming to accelerate recovery, correct faulty mechanics, and deliver sustainable results. Her care philosophy bridges rehabilitation and performance—ensuring clients don’t just return to activity, but return stronger, more resilient, and better prepared.

Beyond the clinic, Dr. Elko is deeply committed to preventative care and long-term movement health, particularly for youth and competitive athletes. As a parent of two active children—one a Junior Flyer hockey player and the other a competitive ninja warrior—she brings both clinical expertise and personal insight into optimizing performance, reducing injury risk, and supporting athletic longevity.

Dr. Elko proudly serves the communities of West Chester, Paoli, Phoenixville, Malvern, Bryn Mawr, Frazer, and the Main Line, continuing to lead Mobility Specialists with a vision centered on innovation, excellence, and measurable impact.
